About Us

The Orchid Gallery opened on Signal Mountain, Tennessee in 2006.

We are a small, specialized nursery focusing on orchids you don’t find in

grocery stores, including many rare and unique species and hybrids.

Geraldine Powell, who owns the nursery, has been growing orchids

for nearly 50 years and has been in the orchid business in various forms

for 40 years, first in Virginia, then Florida and now Tennessee. She has

traveled much of the country exhibiting in orchid shows and presenting

programs to regional orchid societies.

Her plants have won numerous American Orchid Society awards.

She brings this expertise to the plants the nursery offers for sale.

Four years ago, Kyle Dagnan joined the firm. His dedication and

superb organizational skills have helped the nursery grow and become

more efficient. 

The Orchid Gallery ships nationwide, and while most of our business

is online, we love to have visitors, and are happy to open the

greenhouse by appointment.
